In this section we'll reveal João Pinto's nephew, Luís Agostinho Metrakit 70cc Mini GP powered by LuFo.
He'll be riding this Metrakit 70cc GP on the Metrakit Trophy in Portugal, the engine was tuned by LuFo to be competitive and reach the championship title this year.
On this Trophy, the only things allowed is to tune the engine without changing the piston stroke and diameter, so the only things tunnable are:
Cylinder
Exhaust system
Electric system
Transmission

Engine maximum rotation in charge: 15 500 RPM.
Estimated power: 25 - 28 engine hp
Maximum Real Speed: 170 km/h (circuit) & 130 km/h (kart circuit)

Piston: 47.6mm, using only one piston ring.
Stroke: 40mm.
Cylinder: Metrakit kit nicasil sleeve, modified by LuFo by changing the port timings and angles, boost ports and passages reshaped for higher gas flow.
Cylinder head: Metrakit kit, 15:1 compression ratio.
Radiator: Stock
Spark: NGK B10EG.
Reeds: Stock carbon vanes, but reinforced.
Carburetor: 28mm with new gigleur kit.
Air Filter: doesn't use any kind of air filter
Electric part: Stock, light support removed, new ignition timing by LuFo (next step, PVL / Rotor)
CDI: LuFo hand-made, with new diagram map.
Connecting-Rod: Stock.
Clutch: Stock, but reinforced.
Exhaust system: LuFo hand-made using mathematical formulas.
Silencer: Stock.
Oil: Direct mixture in the deposit, 4% using Castrol A747.
Transmission: depending on the use, normal transmission is 14 - 37 using 420 chain
Gearbox: Stock with 6 gears (next step, racing gearbox, close-ratio) |
